Daniel Yang, LAC, MAOM, comes from a family rich with history. Hundreds of years ago in Korea, his grandfather was an artist and served as the Minister of Finance and most importantly, was the King's doctor in charge of the royal hospital. His grandfather was exposed to numerous medical practices in China and Asia and wrote a medical book called "Seungjeongwon Uibo". The knowledge from this medical book enabled his family to produce many oriental doctors for generations.
Daniel's father majored in architecture, but under the influence of Daniel's grandfather, he studied traditional medicine from each country and became an Oriental Medicine doctor rather than an architect. He treated patients for 65 years and added expertise and knowledge to the family's medical tradition.
When Daniel went to school, he studied art, and after earning his doctorate, he started teaching at the university. While working as a professor, he became interested in the folk medicine of each country based on his close relationship with his grandfather and his first-hand experience with Oriental Medicine since childhood. Following in his grandfather and father’s footsteps, he pursued this passion and studied Alternative Medicine at the Graduate School of Natural Medicine at Hanseo University in Korea.
In addition to his formal studies, he encountered and learned the traditional folk medicines of various countries, including Iris Diagnosis in Germany, Ayurveda in India, Ganpoo in Japan and Western Chong Medicine in China and Mongolia. He studied Natural Medicine and after writing a thesis on the specialization of Alternative Medicine, he received his degree from Hanseo.
Moving to California, he entered graduate school at Southern California University and received a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture. When he received his license as an Oriental Medical Doctor (NCCAOM, TMB), he began providing free treatment at a public health center located on Sunset Boulevard in LA. He continued growing his knowledge of herbal medicines and worked in the pharmacy at the health center and at Dongguk University. Since coming to Dallas in 2018, his passion for healing has led him to treat numerous patients with incurable diseases and offer free treatments for those in need. In his free time, Daniel constantly reads current medical information, hikes and works out, is an avid golfer and loving husband to his wife Sofie.
The custom proprietary medicinal recipes at Sun & Moon Clinic are found in ancient books that have been used by Korean Kings and royal families for hundreds of years to promote healing and prevent diseases. Based on those recipes, his family developed restorative medicines and kept improving them over the years. Each medicine at Sun & Moon Clinic is carefully created personally by Dr. Yang for the individual patient and their specific needs. They are prepared and packaged in-house so his clients receive customized Oriental Medicine at the Apothecary Bar. Daniel invites everyone to come sit at the bar, have some tea or refreshing water and learn more about the mysteries of the human body as it has been handed down to him, and learn its ancient secrets.
